Zarka

by Michael Ferner

Gus Zarka from Doylestown (PA) built a Lycoming-engined special in 1932, and campaigned it for about half a decade without much success, mostly on local tracks. After finishing 5th in a 50-miler at Langhorne in August of 1935, he tried his luck in a couple of National Championship races, without ever making the start of a main event.
